We assess your child’s speech and language skills, agree goals with you and design a bespoke therapy package.

Your health visitor is a great source of advice and help. He or she can assist with any aspect of your child’s development.

Assessment of your child’s communication skills usually takes less than an hour. The assessment session takes place in the comfort of your own home, on a day and time to suit you. We make the assessment as play-based as possible, so that your child is motivated to take part. Assessment results show your child’s communication strengths and needs. All assessments include a thorough report. This report provides a detailed description of speech and language skills. It also sets out recommendations for next steps.

Following the assessment, we deliver an individually-designed therapy package for your child. We agree the number and frequency of therapy sessions with you. We then come to your home, on a day and time to best suit you.

Therapy sessions will be play-based. Research shows that use of play maximises learning.

When therapy activities are carried out ‘little and often’, this encourages the greatest amount of learning. So, our therapists demonstrate useful activities and strategies for parents to use between sessions too.
